Hero is back after a year hiatus in music. He went away to reinvent himself as a musician, but more importantly as a person. He found Islam, and he has dedicated his life to bettering himself through the religion. He has also just finished his brand new album, which is called Lights Coming Down. There are 15 tracks in total.

The type of music is called Anasheed. Anasheed is Islamic music often recorded without instruments. Hero in fact does not use any instruments on this project. He does use his voice to portray instruments, and the songs still sound like there is a full band is performing. Hero wants to reach out and spread the message of Islam not only to fellow Muslims, but to reach out to everybody through positive music. It has that perfect balance of teaching and giving praise without being too preachy in order to appeal to secular music fans as well. Vocally, Hero channels his influences from Jim Morrison, Queen, Andre 3000, Jimi Hendrix, and more. One of the big singles from the album is called “Fear Allah”. This song features Philadelphia poet/rapper, Seff Al-Afriqi and a different side of Yun6 Canon. Take a listen to the song below and enjoy something you probably never heard before!
